It is the mid semester two week break! I kicked it off by hanging out with my boyfriend for the past few days and just had an amazing time. Saturday was definitely the highlight. In the morning I made banana oat pancakes and had them with strawberries and 1T of syrup. Recipe here. They were very filling and so yummy! They came out dense and more like literal banana oatmeal, but I love oatmeal so it was delicious! After breakfast we walked around, got coffee at a lovely place called Cafe Allelujah, and went to the museum. Later we had dinner at an Indian restaurant, and I watched my portions and ordered a curry with a tomato base with lots of onions and such, and it was really really good. We walked 9km, and I was very pleased with myself that day! It was a wonderful day.
Today I made french toast from the recipe here, and it was absolutely divine. I had it with strawberries, 1T syrup, and one breakfast sausage link. Yum! We went around to an art gallery and had a really nice time today too, but my boyfriend had to leave after too long. I am so proud I spent the weekend with him and didn't go over my calorie limit! We got a ton of walking in, and he has been so patient with me. I have realized that I can do this, I can be healthy and lose some weight. I haven't been able to weigh myself yet as I don't have a scale, but I think it is healthier this way. I used to weigh myself constantly, up to 3 times a day, when I was losing weight some time ago. But I would rather be happy that I am being healthy and doing well with my calories than be obsessed by numbers on the scale! Also, a shout out to Shanti and her YouTube videos here, as she is awesome an really has helped keep me motivated! She is a real inspiration.
Well, tomorrow I am going to do some laundry hopefully and talk to family and such, and really enjoy my break! I need the relaxing time, I think it will be good for my mind and body. I wish everyone fabulous health and live your life to the greatest extent!
Love,
Erica
