Never having actually blogged before, this is something new and kind of exciting for me. There are a lot of ideas in my head that I want to post, and I hope I can get around to everything in time, and hopefully meet new people and learn some things! I am still trying to find my place in life, and trying to guess at what may be in store for me in the future. I am always chasing after things I may not be able to achieve, which may not be a good thing. But when I have goals I like to work towards them, especially when it comes to my future. I am hoping by being able to type things out I will have more of a release and a way to keep track of all the little things I have accomplished.
Yesterday I attended a Zumba class with my flatmates Emma and Aparna. I was really glad I did, because I had been wanting to incorporate more exercise into my life. They gave me the push I needed, and I actually had a good time exercising! I enjoyed this class a lot more than other ones I had attended last semester as it was in a tiny dance studio in the city, the class was fairly small, it was all women, and everyone was of different shapes and sizes. It was a fast paced class, but a lot of fun and rather easy to follow (especially important for someone like me who has never danced in their life!). If you are in the Auckland area, tell me and I will be more than happy to give you more details.
Also, something else that I have been doing is being more avid in counting calories. It is especially hard to watch what you eat when you are away from home, but being in another country where they do not list calories is pretty difficult. I am not very good with kilojoules and kilo-calories conversions just yet, but so far I have been doing pretty well! I am on a pretty strict calorie restricting diet right now, and so far so good. I have the last 3 days listed in a diet log on Excel, and I am feeling really good about how I have been eating. 2 weeks without any chips/cookies! I had some frozen yogurt, but was able to incorporate it and didn't splurge! Usually I overdo it. The first week is always the hardest, but once I get the motivation and see results and feel better, it is easy to stick with it. If you are interested in calorie and weight loss management, feel free to ask and I will show you what I am doing so far!
Live your own life, feel good about yourself.
Love,
Erica.
